The Growth Project is a partnership between Hourglass and Rochdale and District Mind.
We have been working on the site with people with mental health issues in the borough of Rochdale for over 14 years, & have developed it from scratch.
We are open two days a week, 40 weeks a year for our service users & volunteers providing them with free fruit, vegetables, & flowers throughout the year.
All vegetables & flowers are grown from seed annually, so every year is different. We are always enhancing & developing the site building something new each year.
On our open day, you will find plenty of guides, made up of people who work here, to give horticultural advice & show you around. Everything on site has been designed, built & grown by the volunteers themselves & is a haven of beauty in a post-industrial landscape. On our open day, you will be able to buy our home grown fruit, vegetables and flowers. Buffet lunch, tea and cakes also available.
The Growth Project is therefore a must for anyone interested in growing their own, & developing annual wildflower meadows.
