Home-Start believes that children need a happy and secure childhood and that parents and carers play the key role in giving their children a good start in life and helping them to achieve their full potential. We are a Home-Start charity offering support within local communities , to help children to get the best start in life.
We provide a unique service; recruiting and training volunteers who themselves have parenting experience, to work with families in their own homes, building supportive relationships and responding directly to the family’s individual needs.
Being a parent has never been easy. It can be lonely, frustrating, heartbreaking and overwhelming. All parents struggle at one time or another. For some, the challenges can be greater, this can be for a range of reasons, including poverty, poor mental health, isolation, domestic abuse and lack of family support networks.
Home-Start’s volunteers work alongside families to give compassionate and confidential support. We help people to regain the confidence to be the parents they want to be.
The support Home-Start volunteers give is non-judgemental, compassionate and confidential.
Areas we cover: Home-Start Rochdale and Bury serves Heywood, Middleton, Rochdale, Pennines and Bury.
Our base: Office OP2, Arrow Mill, Queensway, Rochdale, OL11 2WY.
