Petrus - Free Nurture Based Workshops

We are delighted to be planning a programme of free nature-based workshops for children and young people at our PIER (Petrus Incredible Edible Rochdale) community allotment, running from April to August 2026, and we would love to invite schools to express an interest in taking part. PIER is based at Belfield Road, Rochdale and is a nature-filled oasis close to Rochdale town Centre.

Petrus logoOur workshops are designed to support children’s wellbeing, engagement, and learning through hands-on experiences in natural environments.

Sessions can be tailored to suit different age groups and curriculum links, and may include activities such as outdoor exploration, nature craft, teamwork challenges, and reflective wellbeing practices.

The workshops can be over a series of weeks or just a one-off workshop.

These workshops offer pupils the opportunity to:

* Build confidence and resilience

* Strengthen social and communication skills

* Develop a deeper connection with the natural world

* Learn through play, curiosity, and discovery

If you would like to know more about the workshops, please contact Kim Evans @Kim Evans who will be able to give you more information.

As you can imagine, these free workshops will be booked up quickly, so please drop Kim an email and she will contact you to discuss your requirements.

In your email, if you can advise the preferred age group(s) and any initial thoughts on timing (April – August).  Please note that we can also accommodate after school workshops should this be of interest too.
