Pennine District Scouting

Pennine District is a collection of 21 Scout Groups across the townships of Rochdale, Middleton and Heywood, covering Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Network and Explorers. Read on for more information!

Over 1,000 young people are experiencing fun and adventure every week in the 21 groups that make up the Pennine Scout District

We have a wealth of scouting experience in the 400 adult volunteers and their dedication to the groups is fantastic. Without their inspiration week on week, we would not be able to provide the varied programme of activities and achieve the development potential in our young people.

We welcome both young people and adults who are interested in joining us.  It’s a life changing adventure so explore the website and then click on join us to be part of the team.

All groups run a very exciting and refreshing meetings, including camps, water activities, climbing, survival skills along with confidence and building social skills. These are just a very small dose of what the leaders put into their planning.

We’re open to everyone and anyone. We put in a huge welcome to any new members including both boys and girls from any background or faith.

We also have our own Scout Camp Site, Ashworth Valley, which is situated and set in 48 acres of beautiful countryside with many activities for all ages. Click on the menu or the link here to open a page of more information and pictures.
