The second ‘Fly High’ MP summer school for 16-19-year-olds will take place from Monday 6th July to Monday 13th July 2026, with 12 participants from backgrounds who do not usually end up with jobs in politics or policy making.
The participants will spend some of the week in the constituency, where they’ll have workshops in politics and community engagement. They’ll also meet and engage with a range of speakers and special guests during the week, both in the constituency and Westminster.
Participants will also take a trip to Parliament where they will meet the Speaker and other politicians and guests, coupled with a tour of Parliament.
The participants will alsonbe given a two-day placement with an organisation – giving them all a chance to experience work in important organisations.
The idea is for the programme to give the 12 young people some experience of purpose-driven organisations, whilst also equipping them with skills to use in future study or employment and provide something really good to put on their CV!
